 Loving die inlays with cardstock and alcohol inked backgrounds using Tim Holtz Alcohol ink

There is something strangely relaxing about assembling the die cut pieces into beautiful cards. Here's another rose background card.

Just cardstock and vellum

 Created this beauty by cutting and gluing multiple layers of white cardstock using a rose background die from #Wplus9 and embellishing with more roses cut from silver cardstock and white vellum.

Day 3 Homework

Doing more homework for #CrushingOnCardstock card class and loving every minute of it. Once again took elements from multiple days to use on one card.

Then, not wanting to waste perfectly good cardstock, I made another card with the cut out circles.

Homework late...again!

Very behind in my homework for #onlinecardclasses #crushingoncardstock cardmaking class.

I decided to combine homework for Day 2 and Day 3 in one card. This card combines stamping, dry embossing and inlay die cuts using cardstock. While it took me ALL day to do it, I am pleased with how this turned out.  There is no sentiment as I will wait to see what occasion it goes to its forever home. 

The next one won't take as long- I hope!

Saved my die cut pieces from this beauty and created another. This one has lots of texture and dimension...love how dynamic cardstock is.

Day One homework was to create a card with cardstock strips forming them into a chevron pattern or checkerboard. I quickly learned that precision in measurement is the key to a successful pattern. Mine was out the slightest bit which made me crazy so I freestyled the chevron so you could not tell. Loving this little card.

Birch Beauties

Playing again with my alcohol inks (AI) and markers on white ceramic tiles- what a blast!
My plan was to create a landscape scene but I did not like the way the colours mixed and where they settled so I was going to douse it with alcohol and start over. Something stopped me. I thought what the heck, play a little more add some tree and then see if it is more palatable. The beauty of AI on tiles is that you can clean with isopropyl alcohol and start over!
Well this is what happened and I love it!

Painted Tiles

Trying alcohol inks on a new substrate- ceramic tiles. Loving it...don't want to stop!

Totally in love with Adirondack alcohol inks and Spectrum Noir markers.
Watched some videos about using white ceramic tiles as the substrate-thought I would give it a try.

I hope this wasn't beginner's luck!!

Online Card Class- Stretch your Dies- Day 3

Today's homework is from Day 3,  a die creates a window for an interactive card. I ended up securing the door open and I am not sure why I did that- but it works!

Online card class- Stretch your dies- Day 1

It is that time once again for the Online Card Classes with Kristina and Jennifer and Friends. I absolutely love these classes.

Today's homework is from Day 1- Word Dies to create a background.

I do not have any word dies but I have a Cricut so I cut the phrase many thanks many times to create a white on white background. I stamped a bouquet of flowers and coloured with Distress Inks and adhered to the card front using pop dots. Finishing touches were gems and pearls of course :)

I made my own cloud stencil from piece of acetate. I Like it. The little critters are popped up on the card using pop dots to give them the impression of them floating in the air. I clear embossed the balloon give it bit of dimension.

Fusion First Anniversary Celebration Challenge

I saw this challenge from Fusion Card Challenge and thought I would like to give this one a try. I chose to work the colour scheme rather than the sketch.





 I still have not mastered how to take a great photo of my card creations but I will keep trying.

Paper: Canson 96lb Bristol, Gold foil paper from Dollar Tree, black and 110lb ivory cardstock from Recollections.

 





Day6- Stretch your Stamps

Sometimes my mind gets so excited and moving so fast that it does things before I can check what the next step is. Sometimes this flaw of mine works for me and sometimes it doesn't. This time however, I love my mistake. Trying out Donna's card technique, I reached for the clear embossing instead of the white embossing power, but I love the subtlety of this image and my mistake, or rather my interpretation.

Day 1- Stretch your Stamps 2- card 2

Not wanting to waste a single bit of my background stamp creation, I took the "you" and created another card. To give it a extra little oomph I covered it with Crackle accents from Ranger. The pattern may be a bit busy for the crackle technique but what the heck, the idea is to experiment and STRETCH not only your stamps but your creativity. I am going to make more of these cards.

I am so excited that there is another online card class session going on right now!
I had lots of fun recreating Kristina's card and adding my own twists.
Lots of things happening here- water colouring, emboss resist, inlay die cutting and a hint of Wink of Stella. Woo hoo :)
